Estelle Guéville

Estelle Guéville is a curator and researcher currently pursuing her PhD in Medieval Studies at Yale. She previously graduated in History, Art History and the Management of Cultural Heritage from Université Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne. Before joining Yale, she worked for several cultural institutions in France and the Gulf, including the Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Bibliothèque nationale de France and the Musée national du Moyen Age – Thermes de Cluny in Paris. Her scholarship is at the intersection of History, Art History and Digital Humanities with a data-driven approach to the study of medieval manuscripts. Her research interests include scribal practices, questions of authorship, attribution and copy as well as cultural exchanges and gender studies often through the lens of computational humanities and quantitative analysis. In her dissertation, she aims to recover the history of medieval female scribes, using both traditional and digital methods of history and art history.
