Belén Vicens

Belen Vicens is Associate Professor of History at Salisbury University, MD. She is a historian of law and society in medieval Iberia and the Mediterranean world, with an emphasis on relations between Muslims, Christians, and Jews. She is currently working on a book manuscript titled Negotiating Power and Privilege: Law, Monarchy, and the Nobility in Medieval Aragon and an article that examines the fortunes of a set of properties in the aftermath of the Aragonese conquest of Valencia of 1238 and the elite tenants’ relationships with the Crown.
